After discovering recent vandalism to a Youth & Family Services facility, police are calling on the public for help in holding the person(s) responsible accountable for their actions.
On October 22th at around 8:00 a.m., an officer patrolling the area noticed damage to the Youth & Family Services facility at 120 E. Adams Street. It appears that several of the building’s windows were damaged by thrown rocks. On further investigation, police located seven vehicles with damaged windows in the facility’s parking lots. The damage to each of the vehicles also appeared to be caused by thrown rocks.
“It’s troubling to think that someone would want to target a local non-profit organization that does so much for our community,” says Lt. Mark Eisenbraun of the RCPD’s Criminal Investigation Division. “We hope that the community can come together to help us find who did this so they can be held accountable for their actions.”
As the investigation into the vandalism continues, police are asking residents in the neighborhood surrounding the facility to be on the lookout for suspicious activity. Suspicious activity should be reported to police immediately at 394-4131.
Additionally, anyone with information about the vandalism to the Youth & Family Services Facility should contact Det. Seth Walker at 394-4134. An anonymous tip can also be sent to police by texting ‘RCPD’ and the information to 847411.
