A Broward County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Ray Shelton found himself in a bit of trouble last week after a juror came forward, saying Shelton had sent her a “wave” emoji on Facebook messenger before the trial was even over.
The juror said the message made her uncomfortable and it caused the rest of the jurors to be questioned on if he had messaged any of them as well.
The issue is that people were worried the incident could have caused a mistrial in the case of convicted rapist Dobie Hunter.
The judge has not released a ruling on the issue and Shelton has not faced any suspension yet.
