Phoenix Neighborhood Shuts Down This Family’s 30-Year Christmas Display Tradition (Video)

Lee Sepanek, of Phoenix, Arizona started putting up his Christmas display for his son 30 years ago where it has grown more and more each year, at least until now.

In something reminiscent of that Danny Devito movie, Deck The Halls, Sepanek sets up a grand display for the neighborhood that most neighbors love but this year some had the festivities shut down before they even had the chance to begin.

Some neighbors had complained about the traffic problems the spectacle causes and also complained of the fact that Sepanek sells hot chocolate and cookies as well.

Sepanek has yet to decorate and said the city came and told him if they get complaints they will shut him down. They gave him tips on traffic control and has not yet issued any citations but Sepanek is too disappointed to give it a shot.

In a heartwarming turn of events, however, all Christmas joy will not be lost! The nicer neighbors of Sepanek’s will be dividing up parts of his display across seven homes so the neighborhood can still be merry and bright!
