Sad news out of Big Lake, MN, folks.
Back in April, an emu named Dork escaped from a man’s backyard and he’s been on the run ever since. Dork managed to stay on the run for the last seven months, but was spotted the other day and a citizen was able to trap him in their backyard. The police and Dork’s owner arrived on the scene to capture him and were able to do so, but unfortunately, Dork suffered a heart attack during the whole process and ultimately passed away.
According to a post form the Big Lake Police Department, it is common for an emu under stress to suffer cardiac arrest, which is exactly what happened to poor Dork.
Rest in peace, Dork! We hardly knew you!
