Shane Missler, of Port Richey, Florida was the lone winner of the $451 million jackpot on January 5th and his plans sound pretty mature…for now.
Missler decided to take a lump sum payout of $281.2 million after taxes, according to officials.
He has already decided to “retire” from working but says he plans to take care of his family and still have fun. All while he says he plans to “cement a path for financial success so that I can leave a legacy far into the future.”
Missler said after he bought the ticket he “had a feeling” he would win which is why he didn’t make a big to-do about winning other than calling his brother and telling his dad over coffee.
So far, Shane plans to spend a chunk of money on a house and the rest will go on from there.
“I am 20 years old and my journey has only just begun,” said Missler.
