Justin Timberlake is this year’s Superbowl Halftime Performer but the announcement brought a little less celebration and a little more conversation about what happened the last time he performed on the biggest stage.
If you forgot, back in 2004 Justin Timberlake was performing with Janet Jackson when she suffered a wardrobe malfunction and her nipple was flashed to the world. It was a pretty landmark event, not only for the Superbowl but for television as a whole!
Of course, it’s something JT probably will never live down and some believe it is actually his fault.
In an interview with Zane Lowe, Timberlake again discussed the incident stating that now it’s kind of just a thing that happened.
He says he just “stumbled through it” and that he “had [his] wires crossed.”
JT says, though, that among the drama and conversation, he and Janet have had conversations of their own and resolved it between themselves. He also said he values their relationship.
We’ll have to see what 14 years does for this performance.
Wait, 14 years!? Feels like just yesterday…
