Community Holds A Candlelight Vigil For A Taco Bell That Burned Down (Video)

Typically when a restaurant closes up shop, you don’t hear much about it. Maybe a quick blurb on the news or in the paper, but that’s about it. But when a Taco Bell location in Montgomery, Alabama burned down, the news was not taken lightly.

The Montgomery Taco Bell succumbed to a fire in the early morning hours of January 17th. It didn’t take long for a Facebook memorial page to pop up, followed by the news that an actual candlelight vigil would be held for the charred restaurant!

On Sunday night, approximately 100 people showed up to offer their sympathy, memories and prayers. They held Taco Bell cups that had been outfitted with candles. They sung songs. They remembered what once was. It was the perfect send-off for the former restaurant location.

There’s no word on whether the restaurant will be rebuilt or not, but judging by the accounts of the original restaurant’s former customers, it will NEVER be the same.

R.I.P. Taco Bell. You will be missed.
