Homeowners in Mount Dora, Florida are being fined $100 a day until the Vincent Van Gogh-inspired paint job is removed from their house. Originally, the fine was to be capped at 31 days, but a magistrate recently lifted the cap, meaning that the homeowners are now on the hook for an additional $8,000 in fines.
Officials say that the Starry Night-themed, full-house mural violates the city’s sign ordinance and that until the house is repainted, the homeowners have to pay up.
