Recently Catherine Padilla, a member of the Latana Kiwanis club, filed a complaint with the Florida State Commission on Ethics after the mayor made sexual advances toward her.
Padilla says that Mayor Dave Stewart would often be in attendance at Kiwanis meetings but that professional friendship took a strange turn after they went to lunch together one day.
Padilla claims Stewart pulled into a motel parking lot to which she responded by motioning “no” and she was not interested. She did not hear from him until about a week later when he found out she was petitioning for speed bumps in her neighborhood.
He allegedly showed up to her home and Padilla claims he told her, “it’s not too late, you can still have sex with me and I will guarantee that you get your speed humps that you want.”
She filed the report only for Stewart to come back to her home but when WPTV asked about it he said he never spoke to Padilla at her home but does admit going there. When asked “why?” Stewart responded saying, “”I don’t feel at this time I should comment on it until the ethics have been looked into.”
Brings a whole new meaning to “speed humps” doesn’t it?
