Another day, another great, candid story from Charles Barkley!
Charles Barkley must have really hated his time in Philadelphia, because in the past few weeks, we’ve heard a few stories about how he attempted to get out of playing for the 76ers. First, he attempted to gain a bunch of weightso they wouldn’t draft him. Then, he found out that he was being traded to the Lakers and got hammered drunk in the middle of the day, only to find out a few hours later that the deal had fallen through and he had a game that night. And now, this!
Barkley recently revealed that one summer, he flew to Portland on his own dime to try and work out a way he could be traded to the Trail Blazers. It ended up not working out, but Barkley was still a bit pissed that the Trail Blazers didn’t reimburse him his $1,197 for travel expenses. So he called them out the other day on TNT. Surprisingly, the Trail Blazers responded with the tweet below, saying that the check is in the mail!
