The U.S. women’s ice hockey team beat Canada last night to win gold for the first time in 20 years at the Olympics! The game was tied 2-2 after regulation and overtime, and then each team scored twice in the first five rounds of the shootout. In the sixth round, Jocelyne Lamoreux-Davidson scored for the U.S. and Meghan Acosta couldn’t answer for Canada.

The U.S. women’s team first won gold at the 1998 winter games in Nagano. Canada has won gold every Olympics since then.
A silver medal didn’t sit too well with at least one of the players from Team Canada, Jocelyn Larocque, as she was seen removing her silver medal immediately after it was put around her neck. Canadians take their hockey pretty seriously.
