Vivian is thirteen years old and it has been a dream of hers to attend a prestigious high school for the performing arts. So when her decision letter from the school showed up, emotions were running high.
Unbeknownst to Vivian, her dad had written a fake rejection letter for her to open, all based on an incident where she had apparently cheated at Mario Kart by un-pausing the game while her opponent was out of the room. The letter cited this incident as the reasoning for her rejection.
“We regret that we cannot offer a position at our school to anyone who would un-pause a game of Mario Kart while her opponent was out of the room. You are free to reapply in the future once you learn to behave like a decent human being.”
In the end, Vivian gets to open the real letter, where it’s revealed that she was actually accepted and the whole family celebrated.
