Stephen Hawking ‘Discounted’ UFO Reports In A TED Talk Ten Years Ago (Video)

The inspirational, smart, clever, and genius Stephen Hawking has passed away at age 76. While we mourn the loss of the influential mind behind the wonderful man, we also all start to look back and remember some of his finest moments.

Aside from being a downright genius in general, Hawking was low-key a comedic one as well!

In this TED Talk from 2008 titled “Questioning The Universe” Hawking talks space, how the universe could have been created, and UFOs.

Before you get all excited about the UFO part, Hawking actually does not believe the reports of the alien objects are true.

“I am discounting reports of UFOs,” he said, “Why would they appear only to cranks and weirdos?”

Like any good joke, it’s all about the delivery and by using his computer to communicate, it makes it much more subtle and funny.

Hawking was an inspiration to many and never let what he’s had to overcome stop him from spreading his knowledge and message and for that (and many more reasons) he will be surely missed.
