Last weekend at the Amalie Motor Oil Gatornationals in Gainesville, FL, one of those “you don’t see this everyday” moments happened during a funny car race between Matt Hagan and Robert Hight.
Both cars lined up and screamed down the track at about a million miles per hour. But once they crossed the finish line, both cars’ engines exploded, sending the car bodies flying through the air! It’s not like funny cars don’t explode from time to time, but the fact that both exploded at the same time during the same race is pretty unbelievable.
Luckily, it looks like both of the drivers walked away with no injuries. The cars, though, not so much.
