Mark Zuckerberg Apologizes For The Data Breach That Exposed 50 Million Facebook Users’ Private Data (Video)

Over the weekend, news broke that the firm Cambridge Analytica, a data firm with ties to President Donald Trump, accessed information from approximately 50 million Facebook users without their knowledge during the 2016 Presidential election.

Yesterday during an interview with CNN, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg finally broke his silence and said something about the data breach. After taking a bunch of heat for a Facebook post in which he never apologized for Facebook’s actions, Zuckerberg finally apologized, saying that “This was a major breach of trust” and that the company has a “basic responsibility to protect people’s data.

People are reacting to this data breach by deleting their Facebook accounts in earnest.
