Pennington County, SD – Scammers are now sending fraudulent pre-foreclosure notices to residents of Pennington County. The letter actually uses the correct phone number and says to contact the Pennington County Treasurer to pay unpaid taxes. It’s believed these letter may be sent to a homeowner prior to receiving fraudulent calls.
These letters do not come from the Treasurer’s Office. If you receive a phone call from this number, you should still hang up and dial the Treasurer’s Office directly. Do not give callers any money.
