MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace was in the middle of reporting on the active shooter at YouTube’s California headquarters when she thought she heard gunshots herself.
Now with everyone on-edge over gun violence, we can’t blame her for being alert but the sound she heard was someone just opening a can off-camera!
Without breaking her monotonous reporter voice, she stops mid-report and says “I think we just heard some gunshots. Should we listen to that for a second, control room?”
It then took multiple sources to confirm it was genuinely just a soda/pop can because while yet another shooting takes place the best thing to discuss is an idiot who forgot a basic rule of broadcasting. Makes sense.
