Last week before the presser for UFC 223, Conor McGregor seemed to lose his mind when he and a gang of his goons attacked a bus filled with UFC fighters as it tried to depart the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
It turns out that Artem Lobov, a close friend of McGregor’s, got into an altercation with fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov and his team earlier in the week. When McGregor heard about it, he apparently gathered a team of goons, flew over from Ireland and planned an attack on Khabib. As their bus was leaving the Barclays center, McGregor and company attacked the bus, with McGregor himself throwing a hand dolly through one of the windows, spraying glass everywhere and cutting fighter Michael Chiesa. McGregor then fled the scene, but eventually turned himself in to the NYPD.
Dana White talked to Fox Sports the other day about McGregor’s crazy attack, saying that he talked to him through text and while McGregor apologized, White said that he didn’t seem to understand the severity of his actions and that he actually justified the attack.
McGregor’s future with the UFC is now uncertain.
“Conor and I talked through text yesterday. Obviously the worst conversation we’ve ever had. But we talked yesterday before he turned himself in. … He justified it [to himself]. It was justified, to him.” — @danawhite pic.twitter.com/rpV0bkPhhT
