Roughly 3,000 chickens were left for dead in an abandoned trailer on Wednesday which the Jefferson County Sheriff said is one of the worst animal cruelty cases he’s ever seen.
Tuesday evening the Jefferson County police received a tip that someone had abandoned the suspicious trailer, little did they know what was inside.
The chickens were taken from Summit Poultry, Inc. to Oklahoma to be euthanized hopefully a more humane way than just wasting away in a trailer.
When police found the 3,000 birds, there were actually some survivors meaning the poultry-punishing perpetrator will also be facing animal cruelty charges!
What we just really want to know here is what kind of crazy person just leaves a trailer full of chickens behind? Did they lose it somehow? Maybe even Forget where they left them and just said, “eh, at least they won’t become nuggets”?
We need answers…and also maybe some BBQ sauce because nuggets actually sound pretty good now for some reason
