It’s prom season, which means the internet will soon be inundated with videos of high school-age students asking celebrities to prom. It happens every year. Every now and then, someone actually accepts the invite, but most of the time, it ends with a “Thanks but no thanks” type of response.
This year, The Rock was invited to 18-year-old Katie Kelzenberg’s prom in Minnesota. Being the stand-up dude that The Rock is, he actually replied, saying that he could not make it (unfortunately) because he was shooting a movie. To make up for it, he rented out a local movie theater so that Katie and all of her friends could see his new movie for free! Awesome!
The coolest part about this whole story is how The Rock responded to Katie: he recorded an announcement and it was played over the intercom at her school during the daily announcements! Very cool, Dwayne. Very cool!
