Canadian Senator Says Americans Are ‘Ruining’ Hockey Broadcasts (Audio)

Well gang, here’s yet another thing we Americans have been accused of “ruining” although, this guy does have a point.

Canadian senator, David Adams Richards went on a rant recently about how American hockey broadcasters “who have never played or understood the game” are “ruining” the sanctity of Canadian-grown hockey phrases.

Richards says American play-by-play announcers have begun using and spreading phrases that are “unnatural” to the Canadian sport.

According to Richards, true hockey lovers (AKA Canadians) know what we have begun calling “jerseys” actually are called “sweaters.” Also, the term “wrister” is actually “insulting” and should just simply be called a “wrist-shot.”

At first you kind of ask yourself “why does he care so much?” but when you think about it, he kind of has a point! You be the judge…
