Car-vs-Pedestrian Crash

On May 29th at around 1:00 a.m., police were dispatched to the area of Jackson Boulevard and Empey Drive for a report of a pedestrian that had just been struck by a vehicle. Police located the passenger car and observed that the pedestrian was trapped underneath the vehicle. The Rapid City Fire Department arrived on scene and was able to lift the vehicle and rescue the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported from the scene for the treatment of serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The incident remains under investigation, but at this point, police do not believe driver impairment is a contributing factor to the crash.
