On June 8 at about 7:00 p.m. the Rapid City Police Department responded to the 200 block of Curtis St. for a report of a man who pointed a pistol at another male. The suspect left the area and a vehicle description went out, which was found a short time later in the 2400 block of Gnugnuska Dr. and a perimeter was established. Several occupants were called out of the residence and interviewed. It was established that 36 year old Jesse Runnels of Pine Ridge, SD was the person who initially threatened the man in the 200 block of Curtis St. and he was inside a residence on GnuGnuska Dr. The Rapid City/Pennington County Special Response Team was called out due to the nature of the call and the possibility of the man still being armed. The Special Response Team negotiators were able to convince Jesse to come out of the residence and he was taken into custody. Jesse Runnels was charged with Aggravated Assault.
