Tom Hanks Improvs On Stage After An Audience Member Faints During A Performance Of ‘Henry IV’ (Video)

Tom Hanks was performing on stage in Shakespeare’s “Henry IV” in Los Angeles the other night when an audience member suddenly fainted. The play was obviously stopped while the situation was being handled, but in the meantime, Hanks decided to entertain the audience. So from backstage, Hanks emerged, still in character as Falstaff, and did some impromptu crowd work.

During the brief performance, Hanks invited a woman named Frances on stage, threatened to slash the audience’s tires if they left early and, by the looks of things, seemed to do no wrong as the audience was howling with laughter the entire time!

Just another reason why Tom Hanks is a freakin’ national treasure, man.
