Announcer’s Laptop Gets Destroyed By Foul Ball But He Keeps His Cool And Calls It Like A True Professional (Audio)

It’s always the things we love that hurt us (or at least our stuff) the most.

Imagine getting your dream job broadcasting a sport you love only to have that very sport destroy the very thing you use to do that job.

Well poor Roger Hoover had a pretty terrible night when he was calling a game for the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp and a foul ball made its way up to the press box.

Hoover was literally calling a play when the ball flew into the press box and smashed into his laptop.

You hear the ball actually hit something and Hoover just seamlessly says “Swing, it’s a foul, straight back and…off my computer. Oh my goodness..(extremely long pause)..that just happened.”

Honestly it’s really impressive how well he handled that, especially considering afterwards he said it was one of the worst days he’s had in a while.

We can only assume he took that long pause to contain all the swear words he wanted to unleash.

It’s okay, Hoover, we know all about destroying laptops at work. Just ask Maitlynn…
