Car-vs-Pedestrian Crash

On July 10th at around 10:15 p.m., police responded to the intersection of N. Lacrosse Street and E. North Street for a report of a crash involving a vehicle and pedestrians. On arrival, police began closing off the intersection so responding medical units could begin tending to the injured pedestrians. Four pedestrians (two children and two adults) were transported to the hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.  After speaking to witnesses, police determined the crash happened when a passenger vehicle southbound on N. Lacrosse Street attempted to turn left to head eastbound on E. North Street and struck a group of pedestrians crossing in the crosswalk. A Crash Investigator has been assigned to the incident and is working to reconstruct the crash (a process that can take around a week). Only after the reconstruction is complete can we assess pursuing charges in the crash. It is worth noting that, at this point, police do not believe alcohol to be a factor in the crash.
