In case Bill Belichick was not clear about his intentions for the Patriots this season after their Super Bowl LII loss, he definitely made himself clear during this media session!
Of course it did not take long for a reporter to ask about Belichick’s still-debated decision to bench Malcolm Butler during the Super Bowl and he was not entertaining any of it.
Dan Shaughnessy of the Boston Globe said he wouldn’t be doing his own job if he “didn’t ask about last year” to which Belichick continued with the whole “last year is last year” theme.
Shaughnessy tried multiple other ways to get Belichick to answer the question but to no avail, Belichick didn’t budge.
“It’s important for me to have a good season in 2018. I’m going to do everything I can to do that. Do the best that I can for our football team, Belichick began to wrap up. “That’s my job and that’s my responsibility. That’s what I’m going to try to do. Hopefully you can respect that, but maybe not.”
*Mic Drop* Belichick out.
