At what point does a passionate hobby become a little too out of control to the point of unhealthy obsession?
This Iowa resident and train hobbyist, Ralph Gast, is so passionate about trains he’s got his own caboose in his backyard!
Years ago, Gast just had a whole-ass caboose dropped off by a crane into his backyard where it sat until his wife told him he needed to do something with it.
So Gast decided to fix it up inside and out and use it for his very own model train room!
However, when we say “model train room” it’s not that simple…he has built an entire, basically functioning, train town!
There’s multiple trains and multiple depots all around and the towns are complete with main streets and downtown areas!
Honestly there is so much detail, you can tell trains are this man’s entire life but it brings him so much joy you can’t even hate on him for it!
He’s running trains in a train and it sure is something…
