On July 26th at around 8:40 p.m., police were called to the parking lot of 520 E. North Street for a Toyota SUV that had jumped the curb and collided with a cement wall. It was also reported that the male driver of the vehicle was last seen running north from the scene of the crash. Police searched the area but did not locate the suspect. Later in the evening, the registered owner of the vehicle called to report the vehicle stolen. Police viewed surveillance video from the victim’s driveway which showed the male suspect enter the unlocked vehicle, back out of the driveway, and drive away. Surveillance video observed from across the street from where the crash occurred showed the same male suspect fleeing the scene of the crash.
