Before Lady Gaga was a big ol’ star, performing at the Super Bowl, she was just another struggling artist trying to make it. What perfect way to get your foot in the door than an MTV totally “not scripted” (yeah, right) prank show!
Back when MTV made the switch from being about music like the name suggests to being all reality shows, one notable one was called “Boiling Points.”
The point of the show was to put “unsuspecting” people in crazy situations in public, surrounded by hidden cameras and paid actors and see how long they can handle it. If they hit their “boiling point” and freak out they get money for every minute they lasted, if they stay chill the whole time, they’d get $100.
Lady Gaga, just three years before her career took off, with her black hair and still going by her real name Stefani Germanotta, made an appearance on the show!
In a pretty simple scenario where a bus boy took her salad before she finished, Gaga hit her boiling point and did not win and now we can look back and see the roots of her diva-isms!
