Graduate Realizes That His Diploma Has A Typo On It, School Realizes That The Mistake Has Been On Over 9,000 Diplomas! (Video)

While looking at a photo of a recent graduate’s diploma online, Alec Williams, the outgoing school newspaper editor at Colorado Mesa University recently, noticed a big mistake. Instead of the diploma being signed by the school’s chair of the BOARD of trustees, the text read “Coard” of trustees.

At first, Williams wasn’t sure if what he was seeing was indeed a typo, or of it was just confusing because of the Old English font. But a quick comparison between the supposed “B” and the “C” from chair revealed that they were in fact the exact same letter. That’s embarrassing. What’s even more embarrassing is that the diplomas were issued to over 9,000 students over a six-year period!

The university is now offering students new diplomas. All they have to do is go to a website that they have set up in order to issue their diploma request. Each reprinted diploma will cost the school about $5, but will obviously be free to the graduates.

Spell check, people! Spell check!
