A School Resource Officer Was Suspended After Using A Taser To Wake Up A Sleeping Student (Video)

A school resource officer in Ohio was suspended after she used a taser to wake up a student who had fallen asleep in class. To be clear, the resource officer did not shock the student. The probes were not deployed and the taser did not touch the student. She simply turned on the taser in close proximity to him, which produces a loud, popping, electricity-like sound. The officer was successful in waking up the sleeping student, but her job is now on the line because in using her taser, she violated the school’s use of taser policy.

Earlier this year, the same resource officer failed to remove the cartridge from her taser while performing a taser test, resulting in the probes being deployed within close proximity to another officer. She was told that further similar negligence could result in her losing her job. So this is her second taser offense in just a few weeks’ time.
