Yesterday at halftime of the Chargers/Bills game, Bills cornerback Vontae Davis decided that he had had enough. No, he didn’t just pull himself out of the game. Davis flat out RETIRED FROM FOOTBALL at halftime. The team went back out on the field and Davis did not join them. He decided right there that he was done with football in the middle of the game, that the Bills would eventually go on to lose 31-20.
Bills linebacker Lorenzo Alexander had something to say about Davis’ sudden retirement after the game, saying that it was completely disrespectful and that Davis would not be welcomed back if he changed his mind.
Vontae Davis released a statement later in the day that said that after ten seasons of playing through injuries and surgeries, he was done and that he meant no disrespect to his teammates.
