Terry Lauerman is a 75-year-old retired Spanish teacher who decided that he wanted to dedicate his “golden years” to volunteering at Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary in Green Bay, WI.
Six days a week, Terry volunteers his time as a “cat brusher.” And it’s just like it sounds. He shows up at Safe Haven and just brushes cats! Many of the animals at Safe Haven are special needs and need a little extra help doing the things that cats typically do on their own. And Terry is just the man to help!
Recently, photos of Terry went viral after they were posted on Safe Haven’s Facebook page. Along with being an avid cat brusher, it seems as though Terry also enjoys a nap with the kitties from time to time.
Terry says that he plans to keep volunteering for as long as his health will allow him to do so. One thing’s for sure. Those cats are pretty damn lucky!
