Giancarlo Stanton Hit With His Own Home Run Ball After A Fan Throws It Back From The Stands (Video)

Woah…sign this fan up for a tryout, because he’s got a hell of an arm!

On Saturday, Giancarlo Stanton of the Yankees hit a home run against the Red Sox at Fenway Park. The ball ended up in the left-center field bleachers. As is tradition at Fenway, a fan grabbed the opposing team’s home run ball and threw it back on to the field. This dude had a freakin’ cannon, though, and his throw actually HIT Stanton as he rounded second base! The ball hit Stanton on a bounce, so he wasn’t hurt at all, and he actually smiled and appeared to give the fan a salute as he approached third base.

The fan apologized and said he was just trying to throw the ball as far as he could and that he wasn’t actually trying to hit anyone. He also told the news that despite what it looked like, he was NOT ejected from the ballpark.
