At the end of each week, we look back at some stories of really stupid people doing really dumb things during the Idiot of the Week segment. Here are this week’s nominees, presented by Free Beer, Hot Wings and Joe.

Free Beer: An idiot in New Port Richey, Florida decided that it would be a good idea to print his own counterfeit money in five, ten, twenty and fifty dollar denominations using a template he found on Pinterest. Once he downloaded the template, he headed to the county library to use their printer to print out his new-found cash. He then attempted to sell the bills on Facebook!

The money-maker says that he didn’t really have a reason for printing the money and just did so to see how it would turn out. He was busted once he attempted to use the money to pay his rent. The man was arrested and charged with forgery.

Hot Wings: This idiot in Springfield, Illinois figured he’d do his own version of “community service” and share a video to Facebook showing how to remove an ankle monitor without damaging it and facing thousands in fines. Yeah, because things never spread like wildfire on the internet…

The video, captioned “Today’s lesson how to remove a GPS tracking bracelet with out stopping the circuit…encase anyone was curious” shows Dustin W. Burns roll up his pants and successfully remove the monitor. This idiot can’t even spell “in case” but clearly he’s great at making decisions! He was, of course, arrested and charged with a felony for “tampering with electronic monitoring equipment.”

Joe: If you’re going to lie to the government and claim disabilities, you probably should not publicly show you do not, in fact, suffer from said disabilities.

It all started back in 1988 when this idiot decided he just did not want to work anymore, so he claimed he could not continue on the railroad due to a back injury. Since then, he’s collected over $177,000 in disability payments. This all came to an end and he is now serving nine months in prison because he owned and operated a charter boat sailing outfit and video was discovered of him sailing boats.

Another video, discovered by the Railroad Retirement Board Office and the US Coast guard, showed him doing yoga on paddleboards…because someone with debilitating headaches and back problems can totally do yoga on a board and sail boats right?
