In case you missed the news, our neighbors to the north legalized the use of cannabis across all of Canada yesterday but the people of Newfoundland and Labrador got a bit of a head start and boy are they proud!
Newfoundland and Labrador are in a time zone 30 minutes ahead of the rest of Atlantic Canada so lucky for residents like local goober and self-titled “canna-suer” Ian Power they got to be the first in the nation!
Power is honestly so proud of himself to be the first person to ever buy legal weed in Canada, he even said he’s going to not smoke his new legal bud but instead use it in a commemorative shadow box.
His happiness is honestly a bit contagious and while this isn’t the biggest achievement ever, we can’t help but be happy for him too!
He literally said he’s going to tell his grandkids about this someday, about how he basically marked “the end of prohibition.”
You go, Ian, we think you’re a pretty dank dude! Congrats on this momentous achievement.
