NASA Successfully Lands Spacecraft On Mars (Video)

Yesterday NASA successfully landed their InSight spacecraft on the surface of Mars after sending it over 300 million miles on its own!

To get through “the red planet’s” atmosphere, InSight had to decelerate from 12,300 mph to five in order to land in one piece in what NASA called “seven minutes of terror.”

The mission, aside from making history, is to drill into the surface, find out what’s below, study “Mars-quakes” and figure out if Mars ever has or could ever support life.

When it touched down, the celebration looked like it does in every space-themed movie we have ever seen…at least at NASA.

The rest of the world kind of shrugged it off and moved on with their day but we can bet once we can all start taking trips to Mars everyone and their brother will be interested!
