Passerby Tries To Rescue Clark Griswold Mannequin Christmas Decoration (Video)

This family in Austin, Texas thought a National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation theme would win their neighborhood Christmas decoration contest…until it actually prompted a 911 call!

We hear the stories every year of police having to respond to holiday decorations but for once this one isn’t because of some busybody, it’s just a nice man who tried to come to someone’s rescue!

The Heerlein family used a mannequin with a Clark Griswold mask on its face to recreate the scene from “Christmas Vacation” where Clark falls off the roof and dangles from the gutter trying to put up lights.

Seems like an innocent, creative idea but a random guy passing by actually thought it was real, and tried to save him!

The home’s security camera caught it all on video and you can see how frantic and desperate he was to save who he thought was someone in danger!

Now, the family has since put up a sign letting people know it is only decoration and are trying to get in touch with the helpful man!

After all this we hope the family does win the contest, then they’d all be “the jolliest bunch of a**holes this side of the nuthouse!
