Tom Izzo Reacts To Pat Chambers’ Penn State Suspension, Says He’s Changing Coaching Style ‘Because Of The Times’ (Video)

During a recent press conference, Michigan State University coach Tom Izzo was asked about Pat Chambers of Penn State’s suspension for shoving a player.

Izzo first said he does not like to answer those kinds of questions, claiming it is “suicidal” because no matter what he says people will be up in arms.

He then goes on to say he has changed with the times when it comes to reacting to players’ mistakes.

Instead of going in and going in on them he said/joked during time outs he gets down and prays before asking players if he can correct them…or, you know, do his job as a coach.

It all depends on the situation and by the looks of the video, Chambers was pretty fired up and did shove the player but Izzo agrees the severity of the issue and subsequent punishment is better left to be dealt with by the Big 10 or by Penn State.

Quick note: before anyone starts going on about “millennials need to toughen up” it may have not even been the player who saw it as an issue and complained, everybody’s sensitive now, it’s just these times, man…
