At approximately 7:51 a.m. on January 11th, police responded to the area of E North St and N Maple Ave for the report of an accident. A Chevy Impala was attempting to turn south from the 100 block of E North St while a Honda Accord was traveling east on E North St. The Accord attempted to avoid the collision with the Impala, but the Accord still struck the Impala on the driver’s side of the vehicle (T-bone). There were multiple occupants of the Impala who fled the scene to include the driver. One passenger of the Impala remained on scene and was later transported for medical treatment with non-life threatening injuries. Of the three occupants of the Accord, only the driver was transported for medical treatment with non-life threatening injuries. The other occupants of the Accord were released from the scene. The investigation as to the identification of the driver of the Impala is ongoing.
