Police seek public’s help in identifying suspect(s) responsible for string of vandalism incidents

The Rapid City Police Department is currently investigating a string of vandalism incidents that were reported over the weekend.

The vandal(s) have targeted windows of vehicles parked in two primary areas:

·         Rapid City’s downtown area along the western end of Quincy Street

·         The area of Sheridan Lake Drive, Corral Drive, and Catron Boulevard

Police believe the incidents occurred between the evening hours of January 26th and the morning hours of January 27th. It appears that in a number of the reported incidents, a pellet gun was used to break the windows.

Anyone with any information about the suspect(s) responsible for the string of damage should contact Detective Marc Cote (cote-ee) at 394-4134. They may also send an anonymous tip by texting the letters ‘RCPD’ and the information to 847411.

Anyone discovering damage to their property should report it by contacting the Rapid City Police Department’s non-emergency dispatch line at 394-4131.
