We’re not the type to tell other parents how to parent but for Pete’s sake, tell your dang kids 911 is for REAL emergencies!
It is not for tattling on your parents for taking your phone away, parents telling you to clean your room and especially not for math homework!
Well it happened yet again, some kid in Lafayette, Indiana called 911 last week, because he apparently had a bad day at school and a lot of math homework he needed help with.
The dispatcher did help brighten the kid’s day and helped him with a problem about fractions because she did not have other calls at the time but while the interaction was cute, the department reminds people what 911 is really for.
At the end of the call the kid did apologized for calling and this lady dispatcher was extremely sweet and all is good but REMIND YOUR KIDS 911 IS FOR EMERGENCIES, DAMMIT!

Our dispatchers never know what the next call might be.They train for many emergency situations, homework help is not one they plan for. We don’t recommend 911 for homework help but this dispatcher helped a young boy out and brightened his day.@PoliceOne @apbweb @wlfi @WTHRcom pic.twitter.com/w3qCYfJP7O
