This guy in Chicago was just taking his recently-adopted, nine-month old puppy to a frozen beach along Lake Michigan when things took a turn for the worst.
His pup got away from him and disappeared over an ice shelf so he ran over to find the dog struggling in the water.
Doing what any dog owner would do, he jumped in after the cold pup only to realize he had no way out.
A passerby notified police who then pulled off one of the scariest rescues we’ve seen in a while and now have the body cam footage!
Five officers form a human chain and use a leash to help the man out of the water and get him to safety.
The man and his dog are both doing okay now and are extremely thankful for the brave Chicago Police officers who pulled it off!
