Twelve years ago this Denver man suffered a head injury when he miscalculated diving into the shallow end of a pool and ever since has dove into the world of music!
After recovering from the brain injury, Derek Amato discovered he somehow knew how to expertly play piano without ever even attempting to play before.
He still somehow cannot read sheet music but is able to play beautifully because of the rare phenomena, “Acquired Savant Syndrome.”
If that did not require brain trauma first, we’d almost wish that would happen to one of us!
