Disturbance/False Reporting

On February 25th at around 5:55 p.m., police were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of North 7th Street for a female reporting that she had been shot. On arrival, police observed a female exit the residence. She turned away from the officer and put her hands behind her back, requesting that she be handcuffed. She would be identified as 44-year-old Hope Burley of Rapid City. She did not have a gunshot wound. As the officer attempted to place handcuffs on the female, she mule kicked the officer. The officer was able to get her into custody and she was transported to the Pennington County Jail. During a search of her person, police located methamphetamine and associated paraphernalia. Should would ultimately be placed under arrest for False Reporting, Simple Assault on Law Enforcement, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
