After the ‘Leaving Neverland’ documentary dropped on HBO and really shook up what people once thought of Michael Jackson, journalist Mike Smallcombe found evidence that has forced director Dan Reed to backtrack.
Smallcombe, a biographer for Jackson, went back and found documents that really throw a wrench into two key points in the documentary.
In ‘Leaving Neverland’ one of the two main victims, James Safechuck claimed the abuse lasted from 1988 to 1992, ending when he was 14 years old, and that the abuse happened in the upstairs room of Neverland’s train station.
Smallcombe, in his research found that the train station was actually not even approved for construction until 1993…
Reed responded on Twitter admitting the dates were off.
Then, Smallcombe found testimony from Wade Robson’s mother that said the whole family went on a trip to the Grand Canyon despite claims in the film Wade stayed behind alone with Jackson.
That discrepancy has yet to be acknowledged but we are sure we are not done hearing about more details of this story!
