Texas Judge Accidentally Resigns Due To Strange Law

A judge in Texas recently posted online he plans to run for the state supreme court but that really came back to bit him in the a**!

Turns out there is a strange law in the Texas constitution that basically says an announcement like that automatically is equivalent to a resignation.

County commissioners, if they follow this law, could make him step down from his position he has only been sworn into for three months immediately.

If they’re not feeling like some real sticklers, though, they can let him stay in office until there is a “special election.”

Whatever that means!

Goes to show you should always read the fine print…or at least your state’s constitution?
