High School Rodeos Cancelled To Prevent Equine Herpes From Reaching Utah

Didn’t these horses get any kind of sex education? No wait, this is in Utah.

Apparently there is an outbreak of horse herpes going around and it has caused the state of Utah to cancel rodeos, including high school ones!

In 2012 an outbreak of equine herpes led to having to put down 160 horses and now reports of the virus have reached Utah’s neighboring states like Nevada and Arizona.

They say all horses are usually exposed to the virus by the time they are two years old but it lies dormant and could be deadly and contagious if triggered.

Luckily this high school horse girl is here to tell us how hard it is to have horses and these cowboys will let us know how to prevent the horse herps!
