Heart Transplant Recipient Meets Donors Family In Chance Encounter

The Cardinals held Transplant Awareness Day at Busch Stadium on Sunday, where this incredible moment between a heart transplant recipient and the donor’s family happened.

One family went wearing t-shirts honoring their brother who passed away three years ago and donated his organs. The 65-year-old man who received his heart and his family recognized the face on the shirts though the families were not permitted to exchange contact information.

He introduced himself and allowed each of the donor’s family members to listen to their loved ones heartbeat and the families actually ended up getting each others’ information!

If that’s not fate or some sort of divine intervention we don’t know what is!
